Company History

1884

Dinshaw Iron Works started manufacturing ferrous and non-ferrous castings in Mumbai with a modest setup in the form of a small machine shop.

1934

The present management takes over a running company and continues the operation of manufacturing castings.

1942

Starts manufacturing oilseeds processing equipment such as Screw press, Filter press with cast iron structure using mechanical closure and wooden/cast iron filter plates.

1976

Added Polypropylene filter plates in the manufacturing range. Expertise to use hydraulic closing device developed.

1983

A new foundry established under the name of Viral Founders  - began making quality castings at Belgaum, 500 kms away from Mumbai. New cupola furnace was installed for the purpose.

1985

Modern machining center with the name Presswell filters started operating near Viral Founders. Modern machines such as horizontal boring, plano millers, lathes, shaping and radial drilling machine installed to develop in house capability to manufacture all machine components required for filters press.
First filter press using automatic plate shifting device to discharge filter cake manufactured.

1991 Dinshaw Iron Works changed to Dinshaw Filtration Systems and concentrates on manufacturing Filter Presses.
1996

First filter press using automatic plate shaking device to discharge filter cake manufactured.

1998

Upgraded drawing office with CAD facility.
Upgraded testing Laboratory.
Installed pilot press facility.
All above facilities are currently at Mumbai.

2000

Compression polypropylene molding presses designed, manufactured and installed at a new factory commissioned at Ichalkaranji, 120 kms from Belgaum to make quality filter plates.
Installed new Induction furnace to produce alloy steel casting required for various components.
With commissioning of above new facility all components are brought under in house manufacturing range. This enables us to produce high quality product matching international standards. Thousands of presses working working in India and abroad.

Future Plans

In addition to our other plans, we intend developing Filter Press of 2000 mm2
